Weddings: Let Guests Find Their Photos Without Sending the Entire Album
An example of using an event PIN and face-search-only settings to handle individual photo delivery. It also explains sharing boundaries and removal requests.
This article illustrates how current PikFind features could be used at an event. It does not describe a specific customer deployment or measured results.
Wedding photos include old friends, family, and colleagues as well as the couple. Sending the whole folder lets guests browse other people’s photos, too. Choosing and sending files for each person means the person handling delivery repeats the same task.
This example combines PikFind’s current event PIN and face-search-only settings. It shows how to arrange a sharing route that lets guests start with their own photos.
First decide who can enter and what they can see
Before sharing the event link, decide whether to allow browsing all photos. With face-search-only enabled, participants begin with selfie search results instead of scrolling through every photo.
An event PIN adds an access requirement to reduce entry through the link alone. Share both the event link and PIN with guests, while remembering that the PIN does not verify each person’s identity and that a recipient can share it again.
Guests use a selfie to find photos they appear in
Guests open the event page and search using their face. They can look for shots they appear in, including commemorative photos with the couple and group photos at their table.
Face-search-only does not hide the faces of other people in a photo. A group photo that includes the searching guest still shows the people photographed alongside them. Understand this distinction before sharing, and explain the permitted use of the photos to participants.
Handle incorrect matches and removal requests
Face search can include incorrect possible matches. Guests can check whether a photo really shows them and search again with another selfie if needed. Organizers should not share photos on the assumption that search proves identity perfectly.
A removal request can also begin from the photo view. Requests concerning your own photo involve selfie verification, then a choice between requesting removal of the entire photo and hiding your face. Visibility and downloading of that photo are restricted while the request is under review.
Shift the delivery role toward event guidance
In this workflow, the person handling delivery prepares an event link, PIN, and search instructions instead of a different set of files for each guest. When more photos are added, guests can return to the same event page to search again.
The event must separately establish consent to photography and who the photos may be shared with. PikFind’s settings are tools for carrying out those decisions. Deciding who will receive the link and how long photos will be kept also makes it easier to answer later questions consistently.
